About Jimmy’s Egg

Eggs are the staple ingredients in Jimmy’s Eggs restaurants. The chain prides itself on cracking and cooking more than 7.5 million eggs every year, not to mention the over 700,000 cups of coffee brewed yearly! This is an impressive number by any measure but it isn’t surprising considering the number of customers streaming into the restaurants to enjoy their delicious egg-based dishes and desserts.

The Jimmy’s Egg prices are so reasonable that you can eat three square meals a day at a restaurant nearest your home! You will not also tire of the dishes soon, too, because of the wide selection offered. You can even order your eggs just the way you like them as well as ask the staff to surprise you so coming in every day will be a joy, not a bore.  Yes, there are 40,000 ways to enjoy Jimmy’s Egg omelets so boredom shouldn’t be an issue here.

In 1980, Loc Van Le, a Vietnamese refugee who fled Saigon by boat and came to America for asylum in 1975, learned that the owner of Jimmy’s Egg Restaurant wanted to sell his restaurant. He bought the restaurant since he wanted to start his own business, as well as the fact that he liked the good food, good atmosphere and good rapport between the owners, employees and customers. He used his own savings as well as the proceeds from selling his wife’s business and personal jewelry.

Instead of changing the existing menu, the Le couple decided to continue the American-style menu and, thus, keep the customers. The new owners also decided to continue encouraging the good rapport between the restaurant’s customers and the owners and employees.

What They’re Famous For

The Jimmy’s Egg restaurants are famous for their breakfast menu. In fact, the chain prides itself on having won 30 Best Breakfast awards! These are concrete testaments, indeed, that the chain takes its egg-centric, breakfast-oriented mission to heart every day. But these aren’t just awards – the regular diners themselves, even most of the first-time diners, will say that the breakfast menu is among the best, if not the best in the area.

The entire menu in the restaurants is served every day of the week, too, between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. so diners can get their breakfast and lunch during these times. You can then enjoy the lunch items for breakfast, the breakfast items for lunch, and just mix and match the items according to your palate’s desires.

And since eggs are the central ingredients, Jimmy’s Egg boasts that it can prepare eggs in more than 10 different ways. Scrambled is obviously the most popular.

Why Eat Here

If you’re a fan of eggs and the numerous ways that these can be prepared and consumed for breakfast, brunch and lunch, then Jimmy’s Egg is the place to be. You will find a nearly-overwhelming selection of sumptuous entrees, fluffy pancakes, fresh salads, and juicy burgers to satisfy your appetite and fill your tummy. Your eggs will be prepared in a perfect way – rich, fluffy and heavenly with a melt in your mouth quality.

The Jimmy’s Egg traditional breakfast is a customized matter, too, since you can choose your own egg style, meat, and sides, among others. First, your choice in egg style includes two Cracked to Order eggs, egg whites, or egg beaters, all of which pay homage to the versatility of the egg. Second, you can choose a breakfast meat, such as ham meat, country fried steak, corned beef hash, sausage patty, sausage link, bacon, turkey sausage, or two eggs only.

Third, you can choose two sides, such as hash browns, fries, grits, fresh fruit, toast, toasted English muffin, and mini-stack pancakes, among other options.  You may even upgrade your sides by paying an affordable additional fee with your choices including cheddar and bacon grits, hash browns or fries with grilled onions and cheese, and mini-stack buttermilk pancakes.  Yes, you must try the cinnamon roll!

But it’s not just breakfast items that Jimmy’s Egg is popular for. Diners also have the opportunity to fill up on chicken tenders with Belgian waffles; eggs Benedict with toasted English muffin; and breakfast burger with bacon and egg. Fresh salads, such as California Salad and Grilled Chicken Salad, and club sandwiches are also must-haves in the chain.

But as any foodie knows, the food and drinks menu aren’t the be-all and end-all of an enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance, service and facilities also matter since these are also part of the experience that demands the use of all five senses.

At Jimmy’s Egg restaurants, the casual and warm ambiance makes them a favorite dining place for the young and old alike, from students to professionals as well as groups of families and friends. The staff members are also helpful, usually explaining the choices to diners, when asked, as well as friendly. The facilities are well-maintained, too, even during rush hours.
