Red Lobster has always been a family favorite which is why you can see it in malls across the United States. As its name suggests, it’s primarily a seafood restaurant, although of course there are a few non-seafood options. 10. Key Lime Pie
Red Lobster offers a large slice of Key Lime Pie, which is big enough to share with 2-3 people. It has fewer calories than the rest of the desserts on their menu (430 calories). You get to eat this velvety rich tropical dessert without feeling guilty about it.
9. Broiled Flounder
This white fish is high in protein and low in calories. On the Red Lobster fish menu, there are many all-you-can-eat and deep fried options but if you want something healthy, try the broiled flounder.
8. Classic Shrimp Cocktail
This appetizer comes with six shrimps, marinara sauce and a slice of lemon. The shrimps only contain 130 calories total with 17g protein but the sodium can be quite high.
7. Chicken Alfredo
This very tasty dish is served with marinated Cajun chicken and Alfredo sauce, and some grated parmesan. Be careful though as this one contains 1,500 calories.
6. Cheddar Bay Biscuits
This is Red Lobster’s signature entrée and are served warm and gooey. You get fresh sharp cheddar cheese and some melted garlic butter topping on the biscuits.
5. Shrimp Skewers
There are a few dishes on the Red Lobster menu that are low in calories and still very delicious. Each shrimp skewer contains 80 calories and you can order the steamed broccoli and brown rice to go with it to have the perfect, healthy meal.
4. Southwest Style Lobster Tacos
You get three tacos come with avocado salsa and roasted corn, and topped with spicy jalapeno dressing. However even though this dish may be quite satisfying, it gives you 770 calories.
3. New York Steak
You big slab of meat (12 oz) marinated in a peppercorn rub and placed on a fire-wood grill. It is served with herbed mashed potatoes and a choice of a 2nd side dish.
2. Rock Lobster Tail
This dish is roasted Maine Lobster tail topped with creamy garlic sauce and shrimp and served with roasted tomatoes, mashed potatoes and green beans.
1. New Orleans Salmon
The Red Lobster New Orleans salmon is served with grilled Cajun shrimp and garnished with pico de gallo, and served with any two of signature side dishes.
Menu Items to Avoid
Most of the menu items at Red Lobster are pretty good. But there are a few dishes you should avoid such as:
- Calamari and vegetables – Not tasty and has 3,000 mg of sodium.
- Beer battered walleye fish – Served fish and chips style making it unhealthy, and it’s also not tasty at all.
- Bar harbor lobster bake – It contains 1,380 calories with lots of butter, it’s basically heart attack on a plate.
