History

Arthur J. Simms, head of MGM Studios commissary in 1950s and his son Thomas Simms with the help of their friends Brian Taylor and Paul Kurz opened the first Mimi’s Café in 1978 in Anaheim, California. The name “Mimi’s Café” has more history to it than it seems. Founder Arthur J. fell in love with Mademoiselle Mimi in 1940’s. It was an ill-fated love affair and so when he came back home in America, he decided to put up a cafeteria that resembles the place where he and the love of his life shared a lot of fond memories. Today, it is currently under the management of Group Le Duff, a French restaurant corporation that manages their holdings in America and Europe.
