About Maggiano’s Little Italy

With the affordable Maggiano’s Little Italy prices, satisfying your cravings for delicious Italian-American dishes and desserts without burning a hole through your pocket is possible! The chain of casual dining restaurants has 49 locations in 21 states and the District of Columbia.

History

In 1991, Rich Melman’s Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (LEYE) founded Maggiano’s Little Italy in Chicago’s Rover North neighborhood. The restaurant, which was named in honor of Marvin Magid, was part of Melman’s expansion of LEYE’s Italian division. His goal: To re-create the classic dinner house with family-sized portions.

In August 1995, Brinker International, Inc. acquired the concept from LEYE.

What It’s Famous For

Maggiano’s is best known for its combination of classic and contemporary Italian-American dishes. On its menu are pastas, steaks, salads, seafood dishes, and specialty dishes as well as regular chef specials, which are popular among regular diners.

The chain also offers lunch and dinner service, delivery service, and carryout service as well as banquet areas. Customers can order their meals in single-sized portions and multi-course family-style meals, both of which are usually in generous servings.

Why Eat Here

Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurants are always characterized by a fun, lively and welcoming atmosphere, which makes them such great places to bring your family and friends for small and large gatherings. You will immediately be greeted by the friendly wait staff who are obviously well-trained in the art of excellent customer service, despite the restaurant’s casual vibe. You can even ask for recommendations from the servers, if you are new to the chain or you want to try something new.

Be sure to bring a few relatives and friends since the family-style menu is just what it says it is – plenty of food on a plate for a few people to share, even with huge appetites.  Your choices on the menu include but are not limited to:

  • Appetizers include Stuffed Mushrooms with flavorful breadcrumb stuffing and Calamari Fritte with crispy coating.
  • Salads like the Chopped Salad
  • Pastas including Mom’s Lasagna, which has plenty of meat and cheese coupled with broad lasagna, and Shrimp Scamp, linguine and shrimp in a garlicky butter sauce
  • Entrées include Chicken Parmesan with well-portioned chicken pieces in rich tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese; Chicken Marsala; and Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia with crispy breading
  • Desserts like the Apple Crostada, apples and cinnamon in a rich combo; Gigi’s Butter Cake, a delicious pound cake; Double Chocolate Brownie, a scrumptious treat; and Crème Brûlée with a tasty, creamy and crispy top.
