Southern food is among the traditional cuisines in the United States for good reasons. There’s something great about enjoying delicious homemade food that your grandmother prepared – or at least, the equivalent of your homemade food dreams.
But it can be challenging to prepare authentic homemade Southern dishes and desserts because of the preparation required. Then again, you can just order your favorite Southern dishes from your nearest Bojangles’ restaurant, if you have one in your neighborhood.
Here are the Bojangles’ prices, a reliable reference point when you want to eat well without spending wads of money.

Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas founded Bojangles’ Inc. in 1977 with its first location in Charlotte, North Carolina. By 1978, the company started its franchising operations. Nowadays, the chain has restaurants in the District of Columbia and in 11 states across the United States.
What It’s Known For
Bojangles’ mainly offers Southern staples with a Cajun touch. The core items on the menu are its world-famous fried chicken paired with freshly-baked buttermilk biscuits and Southern fixings, as well as its sweet Southern-style iced tea.
Why Eat Here
When you’re craving for Southern homemade comfort food – and you will crave it at several points in your life, whether you’re happy or sad – you don’t have to prepare it yourself, especially as it can be labor-intensive. Fortunately, there are restaurant chains like Bojangles’ that offer great Southern food at a reasonable price!
And the Southern food here isn’t your usual bastardized version served in many a fast-food chain, the kind that’s greasy, oily and flavorless so there’s little joy to be found in eating it. Bojangles’ apparently has perfected the recipes for its Cajun fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits, the main attractions in the menu and the best reasons to eat here regularly.
The Cajun fried is so refreshingly simple that it becomes addictive, especially if you’re into Cajun-flavored food. The recipe, so we’re told, dates back to 1977 and little change has been made to it so if you’re into the familiar, you’re going to love the consistency that comes with the fried chicken. There’s something comforting about the consistent familiarity in a world full of constant changes in spice levels, flavor combos, and skinless options.
The Bojangles’ fried chicken is mildly spicy, not the throat-searing spicy of other chains’ spicy fried chicken, but it’s admittedly spicier than most fast-food regular chicken. The balance is just right, too – you won’t feel the spice in each bite but every bite builds up the spicy feelings so there’s a nice kick at the back of your mouth. The juicy, succulent and flavorful meat is perfectly complemented by the crispy, crunchy and mildly spicy breading, too.
The buttermilk biscuits have a made-from-scratch quality so every bite feels like culinary heaven. Keep in mind that these are quite large – around four inches in diameter – and flat so these are usually used as sandwiches. These are rich in flavor with a strong buttery flavor, nearly crumbly texture, and fluffy mouth-feel, which are the hallmarks of great traditional Southern buttermilk biscuits.
These are also always served hot with your choice of fillings, such as eggs and cheese, seasoned sausages, and country-style ham. You may not even want to order the Cajun fried chicken because the buttermilk biscuits with the fillings are already a filling meal in themselves. But the two items are the perfect pairing so there’s no way in the world that you should order one without the other!
The Southern-style fixings are tempting, too, and you may want to order them every time you’re at Bojangles’ as well. The choices are aplenty, too, including Cajun Pintos, Dirty Rice, and Green Beans, all of which are Southern cuisine staples that are popular across the country.
The Dirty Rice is a guilty pleasure but it’s worth every calorie with its flavorful combination of sausage and red bell pepper, not to mention that it’s a great counterpoint to the mild heat of the Cajun fried chicken. The Cajun Pintos are pinto beans are mildly spicy, too, just as the Cajun fries are.
The extensive menu makes Bojangles’ one of the best fast-food chains for Southern food that you can find in the United States. You just have to look past the typical fast-food décor and venue but since it doesn’t have pretensions of being a Michelin-rated restaurant, it’s okay. You don’t want to pay exorbitant prices for fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits anyway.
The customer service at every Bojangles’ restaurant is satisfactory – again, it isn’t a five-star dining restaurant – and it’s family-friendly, too. The amenities, especially the dining area and restrooms, are well-maintained so there’s no sense of eating at a dirty diner with the dirty dozen. You will also likely find that the crew members are efficient in giving out your orders yet still manages to smile despite the peak hour rush.
