History

Taco Mac was founded in 1979 in Virginia Highlands, Atlanta by two friends from Buffalo, New York who were then there touring the area. These two friends loved the place and they decide to stay and bring their favorite food to the sunny South: an authentic Buffalo style chicken wings. They found an old taco place tucked away in a small corner of the area and decided to put up their restaurant there. Because of limited funds, they were not able to change the old signage outside their restaurant, hence the name Taco Mac. Not long after they have established their first location, more people start to hear about their delish menu and it instantly became a hot spot among locals. Thirty-five years later, they have grown in numbers and their menu now offers some of America’s favorite foods like juicy burgers, fresh sandwiches, healthy salads and more.

What They’re Known For?

Taco Mac is famous for their authentic buffalo style chicken wings that are cooked according to your preference, either deep fried, roasted, or without bones. You can also choose on which sauce you want your wings to be tossed. You can opt for Slow Burn, Fiery Chili Citrus, Three Mile Island, Habenero BBQ, Hot Buffalo, Medium Buffalo, Honey Chipotle, Mild Buffalo, Lemon Pepper, Sweet Chili Sesame, Hickory Honey BBQ or Garlic Parmsan. But over the years, TM’s menu has changed and improved a lot and although their wings are still the center of every patron’s attention, there are some dishes that have caught the taste of many. Here are some of those dishes:

• Buffalo Chicken Flat Bread – grilled tender chicken tossed in their special wing sauce served on top of Italian flat bread with melted parmesan, romano, provolone and mozzarella cheeses.
• Shrimp Guac and Mango Wrap – tasty shrimps, guacamole, mango pico de gallo, shredded lettuce and sliced cucumbers all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
• Chicken Philly – grilled tender chicken, zesty Swiss American cheese, caramelized onions and peppers sandwiched on a warm hoagie roll.
