The Saltgrass Steak House, a chain of restaurants with over 50 locations across the country, is among the more popular here. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Landry’s, Inc. has its current headquarters in Houston, Texas.
History
In March 1991, the first Saltgrass location opened in Houston, Texas. The location was partly chosen because of its strategic location along the historic trail leading to the Texas Gulf Coast’s salt grasses, a place where cattle herders would pass by on their way to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
In September 2002, Landry’s President and CEO, Tilman Fertitta, announced his company’s acquisition of the Saltgrass chain of steakhouses.
