Chick-fil-A Prices

Top Restaurant Prices is not associated with Chick-fil-A

While most of its competitors are based purely on the principles of capitalism, Chick-fil-A’s core philosophy is based on Christian practices, a legacy of S. Truett Cathy, its late founder who was a devout Southern Baptist. The most distinguishing manifestation of it is the restaurants being closed on Sundays as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Chick-fil-A prices are slightly higher than other popular fast food restaurants and that’s mainly because their food is thought to be of higher quality.

Of course, Chick-fil-A isn’t just about the Christianity-based practices but also about the delicious quality and generous quantity of its food and drinks! Here, diners enjoy great value for their money, especially on the chicken sandwiches.

History

The Chick-fil-A we know today only started in 1961 when S. Truett Cathy registered the name Chick-fil-A, Inc. But it was only the successor to a restaurant, known then as Dwarf Grill and now called Dwarf House, also established by Cathy in May 1946. Cathy registered the name and slogan after he found a pressure-fryer for cooking chicken sandwiches quickly.

The first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. During the 1970s until the 1980s, the chain’s expansion became more aggressive with more locations opened in suburban malls’ food courts as well as freestanding locations. Currently, the chain consists of over 2,200 restaurants, most of which are in the United States; the number refers to freestanding restaurants as well as stalls in food courts, hospitals, universities and airports.

What They’re Famous For

Chick-fil-A’s trademarked slogan – “We didn’t invent the chicken, just the chicken sandwich” – refers to its specialty, the chicken sandwich. The chain is also known for its use of trans-fat free ingredients and processes, a thrust adopted in anticipation of the consumers’ dietary concerns.

Why Eat Here

The managers, cashiers, and servers at Chick-fil-A restaurants are always ready to provide friendly and efficient assistance to their customers. Such high-quality service makes every visit to Chick-fil-A such a great experience even when you come with a large group of family and friends. Ask for extra condiments and utensils, for example, and the staff will deliver them to your table with a smile.

Yet another great thing about Chick-fil-A is that its restaurants are nearly everywhere. This isn’t surprising as Chick-fil-A is the third-largest restaurant chain in the United States, after McDonald’s and Wendy’s. Such easy accessibility means that you can satisfy your cravings for chicken sandwich nearly anytime you want.

Keep in mind, however, that Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed every Sunday and on certain Christian holidays. The typical operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The overall décor and vibe is typical of a fast-food or quick-service restaurant. The crowd is a mix of students, young professionals and employees, and families with children so there’s a relaxed and vibrant vibe. The tables and chairs are grouped to accommodate small and large groups, as well as provide enough space for diners to weave in and out of the tables.

Of course, coming to a Chick-fil-A restaurant means enjoying the delicious food and refreshing drinks that the chain has been known for since the 1940s. The chicken sandwich is obviously the bestselling item, thanks to its pressure-fried chicken goodness – the crispy crust and the tender, succulent and juicy white meat have a nice contrast. Get the spicy chicken sandwich in case you want more heat and flavor yet still enjoy the same delicious tastes.

The waffle potato fries are golden, crispy and seasoned fries that will make you hungry for more. Be sure to eat them when they’re hot for the best taste and texture.  These can be paired with chick-in-minis, which are essentially smaller chicken sandwiches available during breakfast hours only, and with crunchy, salty and earthy hash browns.

The chicken biscuit is a great food if you’re looking for something filling and flavorful to cure your hangover, so to speak, while the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit has fluffy eggs, crumbly biscuit, and delectable sausage, a combo that tastes as good as it looks.  Be sure to try the bacon, egg and cheese on a muffin and the chicken, egg and cheese bagel, both of which are made of fluffier eggs than those at McDonald’s.

A visit to Chick-fil-A should ideally be marked with a taste of its chicken strips and nuggets, which are smaller versions of the chicken sandwich sans the bun. We love the batter for the strips, too, especially as it contains garlic powder, tomato powder, and molasses, among others, resulting in a more complex flavor than expected.

Other items on the menu include spicy Southwest salad, grilled chicken sandwich and grilled nuggets, chicken salad sandwich, chicken noodle soup, and superfood side salad. Be sure to order one or more of the desserts – ice dream cone, a cool and milky dairy product; frosted coffee, a smooth frozen iced coffee perfect with chicken mini breakfast sandwiches; and lemonade and frosted lemonade.  The drinks also include iced tea, strawberry milkshake, and peach milkshake.
