History

Biscuitville has its roots in Mountainbrook Fresh Bread & Milk, a company founded by Maurice Jennings in 1966 and with a focus on bread manufacture. Later known as Pizzaville, the company transitioned into biscuit manufacture when Jennings wanted the business to tap into the breakfast market. The biscuit recipe itself was created by Jack King, then-manage of a Pizzaville store in Burlington.

Soon enough, the sales of biscuits outnumbered those for pizza. The management decided to focus more on its biscuit operation and opened its first Biscuitville location in Danville, Virginia in 1975. The current headquarters are located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

What It’s Famous For

The chain prides itself on being a Southern restaurant chain, born and bred, so to speak. The restaurants offer a mix of authentic Southern cuisine adapted for the fast-food market yet still retaining its genuine nature, as well as breakfast food items.

The biscuits, the stars of the menu, are made from scratch and kneaded by hand in front of the diners.  These are also made every 15 minutes every day so that the biscuits served at the tables are always hot – and that’s exactly how we like our Southern-style biscuits to be!

Why Eat Here

The best reason to become a frequent, if not regular, diner at your nearest Biscuitville restaurant is the biscuits – buttery, flaky and filling pieces of heaven that are always served hot from the oven. These are breakfast biscuits that most, if not all, of its diners become addicted to so much so that they order them in large batches.

The biscuits are also offered in two varieties – the Regular and the Ultimate. Both are satisfying and filling in their own right so it’s a matter of personal preference, such as when you stick to the Regular option if you’re watching your calorie intake. The Ultimate option can be shared with your fellow diner since it already overflows with two pieces of meat, an egg and two pieces of cheese.

These buttery biscuits can be paired with a wide range of meats including sausages, hams and fried chicken as well as with eggs and cheese.  These can even be paired with pork chops, steaks, and bologna for filling meals.

The English muffins are the best in North Carolina and Virginia, too.  As soon as you bite into a Biscuitville English muffin, your mouth immediately enjoys the soft texture and delightful flavors so much so that you can finish it in a minute! Each order comes with a fried egg and cheese for a complete American breakfast.

The Ultimate Platters are popular among groups because of their generous serving sizes.  Each order comes with four eggs, biscuit and grits, and double meat, as well as your choice in hash browns or gravy. The choices in meat include turkey sausage, bacon, and sausage, all of which have been sourced from local producers to ensure the best quality in flavor and freshness.

Since Biscuitville is a breakfast place, the Breakfast Platters are selling like hotcakes, too. Each platter comes with two eggs, choice in meat, and biscuits and grits; the meat choices include bacon, turkey sausage, ham, and sausage.

Don’t worry about carb intake while at Biscuitville because the chain also has Low Carb Platters with low-carb meats and four eggs.  Diners rave about the Pancake Platters, too, because Biscuitville pancakes are fluffy and flavorful with each bite paving the palate for the next delicious bites.

The menu also includes several sides like French toast sticks, has browns, French fries, and grits that can be paired with your choice in cheese.  There are also honey buns, banana nut muffins, blueberry muffins, and cranberry orange muffins to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Aside from being the best place for filling up on a satisfying breakfast at an inexpensive price, every Biscuitville restaurant is also a great place for meeting people in your community.  Everybody seems to favor Biscuitville for their breakfasts and lunches, from cops and construction workers to students and young professionals – even the have-nots and the haves!

The restaurants are always clean regardless of the crowd while the wait staff remain friendly, attentive, and fast on their feet despite the rush hours.  Plus, there’s free refills for coffee and certain drinks!
