History

The first Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar opened in 2007 on East Boulevard in Charlotte, North Carolina. The founders attributed its immediate success to its philosophy of preparing simple contemporary American fare with a culinary passion not previously applied to it. The resulting foods, the most popular being the line of hamburgers, satisfied a craving among consumers.

In the same year, the second Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar location was also opened. By 2012, the chain consisted of five restaurants – and in every city where it served its fare, the common reaction was, “Wow!”

As of 2017, the chain consisted of 20 locations across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Colorado. The management continues to expand its number of locations so you may just find your city being host to one of its restaurants.

Just as its name implies, the Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar chain is known for its line of truly delicious hamburgers. Such is the excellent quality of its burgers that it has received numerous awards and accolades from the likes of Denver’s Dining Out, Charlotte Magazine, and Nation’s Restaurant News.

Here, you will most likely find a couple of hamburgers that will satisfy your hunger for juicy burgers with crisp vegetables, delicious buns, and savory toppings.

And what a selection of burgers they have in each location! The Bad Ass Burger is such a badass burger, indeed, with its huge 10-ounce fresh beef patty grilled to perfection, house-made American cheese, and buttermilk fried bacon topped with lettuce, pickle, and tomato; the horseradish mayo adds just a bit of spice.  The BD’s All-American burger appeals to the American sensibilities with its equally generous beef patty topped with shredded lettuce, red onion, tomato and pickles with ketchup and yellow mustard for added flavor.

Be sure to order the Bacon Cheeseburger on Steroids, especially if you like crispy bacon with your beef patty. Sandwiched between the bun are Monterey Jack cheese, several pieces of applewood smoked bacon and jalapeño bacon, and several types of vegetables, all topped with the best bacon mayo this side of town. This is beef and bacon overload but without the overwhelming feeling.

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is also known for its unique takes on the classic burger, too. There’s the Smokehouse, a delightful burger for the pork lover with its juicy pulled pork, tangy pepper jack cheese, and apple-bacon BBQ sauce with onion straws for toppings. Other burger delights include the Sam I AM Burger, Pittsburgher Burger, Nick’s Patty Melt, Mama Ricotta’s Burger, and Pastrami Reuben Burger.

Beef patties aren’t the only ones on the menu either. Chicken lovers will also find the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Emilio’s Chicken Sandwich, and the Frenchie Burger just as satisfying but healthier than the beef-based burgers.  There’s even a vegetarian-friendly burger, the Cantina Burger, and a fish burger known as the Maui Tuna Burger.

The burgers are great on their own. You can, however, pair them with the salads, as well as a beer or a cocktail.  The Texican Chicken Salad and the Asian Salad are bestsellers because of their great-tasting quality.
