History

On July 23, 1964, Forrest and Leroy Raffel founded Arby’s. The brothers owned a restaurant equipment business and opened the first Arby’s based on their desire to offer consumers food other than hamburgers. The name Arby’s came from their initials – R.B. or Raffel Brothers.

The first Arby’s initially served roast beef sandwiches, potato chips, and soft drinks. The trio of food soon became popular, especially among consumers who wanted a break from hamburgers and fries. The prices for the roast beef sandwiches were significantly more expensive than the prices for hamburgers but the consumers lapped them up because of their delicious quality.

Today, there are more than 3,300 restaurants across the United States, as well as in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Inspire Brands is the current owner of the Arby’s chain; the company, in turn, is wholly-owned subsidiary of Roark Capital Group.  The current corporate headquarter are in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs in the State of Georgia.

What They’re Famous For

Arby’s is known for its filling, flavorful and fun combinations of roast beef sandwiches. There are also deli-style sandwiches, curly fries, and shakes to satisfy the appetite of every fast-food gourmand and fan.

Why Eat Here

Fans of meat-based sandwiches and subs flock to their nearest Arby’s restaurant for good reasons. Here, you will find a truly wide range of sandwiches, subs, and even burgers that will satisfy your needs for soul-satisfying, tummy-filling breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.

The menu for the sandwiches and subs are divided into four types of meat – beef, pork, chicken, and turkey. Every customer will have a choice, whether it’s the meaty goodness of roast beef or the healthy leanness of the turkey. Whatever your choice, you will agree that Arby’s has a great way of preparing the meats so that these are always flavorful, juicy and tender with every bite.

We highly recommend the King’s Hawaiian Brisket, a truly mouthwatering sandwich made of smoked beef brisket, melted gouda cheese, and crispy onions with mayo and barbecue sauce between King’s Hawaiian buns. Be sure to try the Smokehouse Brisket with its smoked brisket, the best we have tasted so far, and topped with crispy onions and smoked gouda; the bun is an artisan-style roll.

The selection of roast beef sandwiches is aplenty so much so that you may have a difficult time making your choice. There are Fire-roasted Philly Roast Beef, Roast Beef, French Dip and Swiss, Beef ‘N Cheddar, and Three Cheese Roast Beef, to name a few.

The regular sandwiches may be too big for some people and, thus, Arby’s introduced its line of sliders. These are smaller sandwiches that pack in the goodness of their larger counterparts. The choices include Jalapeño Roast Beef Slider (fire-roasted jalapeños and Swiss cheese) and Roast Beef ‘N Cheese Slider (roast beef, cheese, and mini bun).

The non-beef sandwiches are just as impressive with their thick slabs of meat, lightly toasted buns, and fresh vegetables with a topping of the best Arby’s sauces. The choices include Buttermilk Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich, Buttermilk Chicken Bacon and Swiss, and Roast and Turkey Ranch and Bacon Sandwich.

The sides and salads aren’t just colorful in their presentation but, more importantly, delicious down to the last bite. The salads selection may be limited – just three at present, namely, Chopped Side Salad, Crispy Farmhouse Chicken Salad, and Roast Turkey Farmhouse Salad – but it’s enough, especially once you have the sandwiches.

The sides are your usual fast-food sides but Arby’s has taken it to more delicious levels. The choices include curly fries, which can be served plain or loaded with cheese, as well as creamy mozzarella sticks, spicy jalapeno bites, crispy and sweet onion rings, and fluffy potato cakes.

Many of the desserts double as drinks, such as the shakes including Mint Chocolate Shake, Jamocha Shake, Ultimate Chocolate Shake, and Vanilla Shake. There are also Oreo Bites, Triple Chocolate Cookies, and Salted Caramel and Chocolate Cookies.

Depending on the location, the soft drinks can be Pepsi-Cola or Coca-Cola. There are also root beers, fruit punch, and lemonade on the menu.

Every Arby’s restaurant has a more upscale décor than your usual fast-food restaurant, a throwback to the first Arby’s shop. The staff from the servers to the cashiers are polite, friendly and accommodating so there’s always the sense of being welcomed into the restaurant.
