History

In 1991, John Carter opened the first Wayback Burgers restaurant in Newark, Delaware; it was then known as Jake’s Hamburgers. By the early 2000s, several more locations were opened, which also led to changing the name from Jake’s Hamburgers to Jake’s Wayback Burgers in 2010.

To date, the Wayback Burgers chain has nearly 100 restaurants with dozens more in development. The restaurants are spread across the United States particularly in New England, New York, Ohio, California, Texas, and Florida.
