Five Guys Prices: How much is Five Guys?

✅ Verified & Reviewed 🕒 7-8 minutes read.

“Better burgers” is the battle cry of the Five Guys chain and we’re inclined to agree that, indeed, the chain offers better burgers than many of its competitors in the fast-food and fast casual segments. The chain of fast casual restaurants has, in fact, been consistently recognized as among the best, if not the best, burger chain in the United States. (Its closest competitor is In-and-Out Burger). Due to that fact, Five Guys prices can be considered higher than average. Below are the latest Five Guys menu prices.

About Five Guys

Such enviable reputation isn’t surprising considering that the chain has a strong passion for quality food, a passion that its customers share. The food at Five Guys are so satisfying in taste and amount that you will probably not eat fast-food food at any other burger joint.

History

In 1986, the husband-and-wife team Janie and Jerry Murrell founded Five Guys. The name was inspired by Jerry and his four sons at the time of the first restaurant’s opening; the couple subsequently had a fifth son. Today, all five sons are actively involved in the business and the chain has remained a family-owned business.

As of 2016, the chain had more than 1,500 locations across the United States as well as in Canada, France, Germany, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, and Qatar, among other countries. The corporate headquarters are in Lorton, Virginia in the United States.

What They’re Famous For

The Five Guys chain is known for its better burgers, which have 100% beef patties, bacon, and American cheese, as well as for its grilled cheese sandwiches, vegetable sandwiches, and kosher-style hot dogs. The buns used for its burgers are unique in the industry, too, since these have a sweeter taste and an eggier texture than the buns used by its competitors.

Why Eat Here

The serving sizes at Five Guys are huge, and we have to say that these are significantly larger than those offered in the likes of McDonald’s. Even the fries, the only sides offered in any Five Guys restaurant, are served in a gargantuan size; the sizes are small, medium and large but we think that the large size should be renamed massive! The extra-generous portions are welcome, especially as the fries are flavorful, and comes in two flavors – Five Guys Style and Cajun Style.

The burgers are available in two sizes, namely, regular and little. But don’t be fooled by the “little” label because a little burger is still larger than the usual fast-food burger. The main difference between the two lies in the number of patties used – a regular burger has two patties while a little burger only has one patty.

The menu is simple and straightforward, a great thing since too many choices will only delay gratification for your cravings. The burgers are classified into hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger, and bacon cheeseburger, which are available in regular and little sizes.  These can be prepared in your full view, if you want to watch, thanks to the open kitchen layout.

The best thing about the Five Guys burgers: You can add as many toppings on your burger as you like and these toppings are free! The toppings include mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mustard, ketchup, relish, fresh onions, jalapeño peppers, green peppers, hot sauce, barbecue sauce, and A1 sauce (i.e., a steak sauce).

Of course, the burgers are of higher quality so customers are more than willing to pay for the extra dollars. The all-beef patties are grilled to perfection with their meatiness enhanced by the cooking process, as well as being juicy and tender. The toppings should be carefully considered as one too many of them between the buns can affect the patty’s delicious flavor.

The Five Guys menu also features kosher-style hot dog, which has been grilled lengthwise resulting in a caramelized flavor; cheese dog, a hot dog with a Kraft American cheese and your choice in free toppings; and bacon dog, a hot dog with applewood-smoked bacon for a touch of sweetness.

The sandwiches selection is limited but what it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality and we’re more than satisfied with the flavors, too. The Veggie Sandwich has freshly grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes; it isn’t a veggie burger. The Cheese Veggie Sandwich has the same ingredients as the Veggie Sandwich but with the addition of American-style cheese.

The BLT has six stripes of American smokehouse bacon as well as tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo. All of these sandwiches can be customized, too, with the addition of one or more of the free toppings.

Not all locations have vanilla milkshakes, which can be served with or without whipped cream. The milkshakes can be topped with your choice in mix-ins like bacon, bananas, cherries, chocolate, coffee, malted milk, Oreo cookie pieces, peanut butter, salter caramel, and strawberries.

Only Coca-Cola products are served at all Five Guys restaurants.

Don’t expect frills at Five Guys restaurants but the simplicity works well for its customers – the food and drinks are the main reason you will be coming here again and again, after all. The service is excellent although there’s no table service.
